About

The CSTA Nebraska website was developed with the vision of supporting a number of different local Computer Science Teachers Association chapters. Currently, there are two Nebraskan CSTA chapter, as more are added we invite them to also use this website as a way to communicate, collaborate and share resources.

Local Chapters:

CSTA Nebraska Huskers

CSTA Nebraska Huskers began in the summer of 2012 as a way for some Nebraskan’s to continue collaborating on computer science topics after attending the Nebraska Tapestry Workshop. After meeting for a couple of months they decided to formalize things a little more and reach out to other computer science teachers by applying to form the first Nebraskan chapter of CSTA. A few months later they were approved as a chapter, began planning for CSed week and started plans to invite the rest of Nebraska to join them.

CSTA Nebraska Huskers is a membership organization that supports and promotes the teaching of computer science and other computing disciplines. We provides opportunities for K-16 teachers and students to better understand the computing disciplines and to more successfully prepare themselves to teach and learn.

Join us in promoting, supporting and developing the teaching of computer science and other computing disciplines in Nebraska K-16 education.

CSTA Nebraska Omaha Metro Area

The Metro Omaha CSTA Chapter is made up of a number of PK-12 educators and UNO Computer Science faculty who are interested in the teaching and learning of computing at the elementary, middle, and secondary levels.

Throughout the school year, the Metro Omaha CSTA Chapter meets monthly on UNO’s campus to discuss upcoming events, ongoing projects, and hear about new approaches to teaching computing. Meetings are open to all who wish to attend, and membership in the national CSTA organization is free!
